Fishing blown out water
Based on his Facebook pictures - an acquaintance of mine seems to be doing quite well on the rivers right now... and they're all blown out!
He mentioned using bright colours... but I recon there's more to it than that. In blown out water, where does one find the fish? Off under the banks? Behind rocks? Deep pools? Moving up the main flow? Getting the bait down to the level of the fish is also challenging... lots of lead and big floats? Or just forgo the float and bottom bounce? I had a lot of trouble today, I saw the odd fish splashing around every once and a while, but I don't think I even come close to getting my bait in front of one. Not that I could see much under the water anyways LOL |

RE: Fishing blown out water
keep your gear close to the shore line,
the fish hug the banks in any conditions of water... Good luck... ~Jeremy. |

RE: Fishing blown out water
Jeremy's correct that you are best to fish the margins close to shore....fish follow structure....its calmer....they are searching for calmer pools...remember the credit....and very importantly...less snags and lost gear...as well you will have a better feel for the touches and the soft bite.....watch your casted shadow...and making noise on the bank...walk softly and carefully....pretend your fishing carp in the margins...

RE: Fishing blown out water
thanks guys. where I did see a fish or two today, they were in the main flow splashing in and out near the surface... I guess they were simply pushing upstream to the next pool
