Once, while fishing for salmon, I hooked a clam.
I stumbled across this article (http://nautil.us/blog/this-legendary-dee...-60-years) on one of may daily lunchtime read sessions. The article interesting in it's own right but i liked the description of the some of the joys of fishing.
Quote:Once, while fishing for salmon, I hooked a clam. It fought bravely, and when I finally pulled it from the water I could see that I hadn’t just snagged it, as you might expect, but that it had taken the bait willingly. These are minor points; what matters here is that the clam, so different from a salmon, forced me to reconsider what might lie below the murky water. It did not seem like a place for clams, but there it was, spinning at the end of my line. Do you have any? |

Oh man... Your conversations while fishing must be fueled by frequent success, or gratuitous cocaine use... Deep! Love it! Thanks brother.

My success is average. Self-Reporting bias may make it seem otherwise one of the reasons I tried to introduce a skunk thread. My aspirations are fueled with the potential of success and just making time to go out and enjoy nature. Let it be known the only substance I abuse is caffeine (through pop as I do not drink coffee). I drink beer but no longer abuse it as I did in my misspent youth. (09-02-2015 02:09 PM)OldTimer Wrote:(09-02-2015 11:54 AM)zippyFX Wrote: ...........there’s always the chance of catching a clam.
