You should check your fishing regulations, as I'm pretty sure Pike is closed season right now!

frenchmans bay is zone 17 pike is open all year page 85 of the regs
maybe before commenting you should follow your own advice
so i ended up catching two pike
but both were under 24 i think
the big ones have already headed back to the lake

This is the exact reason I avoid certain areas at different times of the year. I've encountered conflicting reports from the Ministry and the COs in the field on open season boundaries and can't afford to pay the fine for a misinterpretation of the law or a typo by the printer in the regs.

my sincere apologies
i had a mnr guy tell me it ws zone 17 ooooppps now i will quit targeting them
and i will pay more attention to my zones
i have now downloaded the maps ontario files that give the legal boundries
thanks to pumpknows
i had never seen those maps
