Hey guys,

How do you find the Mosquitos?
I continue to get bitten all the time, (was out at the islands yesterday and collected over a dozen bites.

I am getting pretty sick of this, it seems to be way worse this year than last.

Hs anyone got any good advice for keeping these things from biting as much?

Thanks
Don't pay attention to all the hooey about colours, or eating bananas, or using dryer softener sheets, or garlic ........... it's all BS.

For me the best way is using a quality SPRAY repellant (OFF, Muskol......etc.).

Wear an old cotton or canvas jacket and a ball cap - lay them down and spray them WELL with the repellant after first arriving at your fishing site - particularly the neck and wrist areas of the jacket, and the entire top side of the hat. (EDIT: use old jacket and hat as the spray may stain them)

Also spray your entire neck, ankles, cheeks, ears, your wrists, and the back of your hands and fingers.

Avoid getting the spray on your finger tips......... so it doesn't end up on your bait or lures.

I've also used an insecticide fogger when I'm fishing from one spot.

Plus - wind will help you too........... avoid dead calm locations with no breeze if possible.

Cheers,

Ant bites are worse! If anyone has a way of preventing them, please let me know.
nothing we can do about the ants, I hate them too...

What ever you choose as a bug repelent, As mentioned above Muskol is a great one.

Make sure your bug repellant has "DEET" in it.

it is really the only thing that works against the mosquitoes horse flies and deer flies.
