Nice catch, which river were you fishing?
^^^
It was off a west trib
Did you think you were snagged initially? Looked like you were going in to try and get your equipment back.

Speaking of equipment.. what were you using? I couldn't make it out in the vid.
^^^
Yup, I thought it was snagged at first because I was drifting near a ledge.
As you can see I walked over to try and pop it out. I actually got scared when the chinook started to splash.
I think its cool that I caught it on video. Its a lot better then telling someone the story on how I caught my first.

I was using a 8'6" uglystick with a mitchell 4000 reel. I bought this as a beginner setup for pier and river fishing.
I also bought a used Okuma Aventa centerpin and a 13' rod but I havent caught anything on it yet. Im still learning on how to use it.

Nice catch.
First hook up with the centerpin today. I went 0-1 and I believe it was a Steelhead.

The body was all chrome and it looked to have weighed around 5-10lbs?

Congrats instapump! Looks like a beautiful little stretch of river you found there.
