Hey,
This week I learnt of a fishing derby that’s been going on for the last 72 years VERY close to my home. I would have gone had I known…………

Apparently it’s the oldest Sucker Derby in North America.

Makes me wonder: what other fishing events & derby are going down, that are not well advertised, or not widely published – yet might be fun for some of us to participate in.

Perhaps the forum calendar could be used to show such events – or perhaps a thread, or better yet a simple chronological yearly list ?...............

Sucker's suckin on a sucker is pretty clever. I don't really know of any in here in Toronto, except I think there is one in grenadier pond for the kids? I also get emails from New World Carp about derbies at the reservoir beside wild water kingdom.

I have a to-do list for this forum, a lot of things that OldTimer suggested in the other thread are on there.

I've looked over the Calendar page. Anybody should be able to add/edit public events or even private events between members. Please feel free to add whatever you see fit (openers, etc.). This is a feature that I haven't mentioned before or advertised.

A side-bar with upcoming calendar events and recent replies is also on the to-do. As is a page where you can see the new replies to your posts. Sit tight while I finish my exams *fingers crossed*.

I plan on fishing the Sydenham (Owen Sound) Salmon Spectacular this year.

My wife is from OS and her folks are still there. I'll be fishing the harbour next weekend for trout (salmon if they hit at all).
