Greetings.
I'm a new member from the Philadelphia area.
I have a trip planned to Oxtongue in August. Any tips on what fish we can expect to hook into during the late August season?
I had fished at Guananoque last fall and it was great. Caught a nice largemouth there.
We plan to also go into Algonquin for hiking. I heard many good things about that. We were originally planning on camping but decided on a hotel for this first trip to the Algonquin area.
I have caught largemouth on purple worms near fallen tree stumps at any time of the day. We were wondering if there are any trout to be caught in the lake in late August?
Are there lake trout in Oxtongue and if so do 3 inch spoons work for them?
I have a Canada fishing license. We are really excited to finally get to the Algonquin area. Looking forward to fishing from the canoe. I have heard that there are some large smallmouth in Oxtongue lake. We have some CP swing spinners and also some tube bait jigs. Can anyone provide some advice for smallmouth lures for Oxtongue lake?
For Oxtongue, I heard that Gent Island and Romance Island are good spots to drop a line. Has anyone had luck near the bridge area and if so what species and tactics?
