Nice to find this site. I am 63 years young and live with my wife in Oakville Ontario.
I have always had a love of fishing as I grew up in the Bahamas. Did allot of fishing with a buddy in the 70's and 80's including a few fly in trips. Took it up again in 2005 when I was contacted by a long lost cousin who had a cottage in Bobcaygeon, too bad they sold it in 2008.

Since a Caribbean vacation is not in the plans for this winter, I talked my wife into renting a cottage in Barry' Bay for a week in September. I love bass fishing and a buddy at work said if he only had one lure it would be a chug bug. So I bought one and now I'm a top water guy, what a rush, and this was all from shore.. 3 Of us from work are going to try some local fishing spots... Oakville, Milton, Burlington areas next spring and summer. Also I am looking forward to another one maybe two weeks at a cottage again next year.

BTW, she loved cottaging... yea

Some nurse shark fishing from shore, and grouper with charter boats.
Good stuff. I like the salt ...................... but like you my favourite is top water smallmouth bass.

I'm sure you'll find some helpful info here.

Welcome Captain,

Fishing in the Bahamas must have been awesome. And I too enjoy seeing the explosion when a Bass hits a topwater lure, check out a "Hula Popper" that's my favorite top water lure. You'll be able to find lots of information about many topics on this forum and we have many knowledgeable users that can help you with just about everything.

Enjoy the forum,

Haha The leafs might take more than a year depending on when Bettman gets his act together Tongue.

Have you ever tried ice fishing? There's a way you could still get some fishing done over the winter.

Why next year, it's good time for trout fishing in the winter.

Ice fishing... I thought about... then the thought passed, and I'm glad it did.

Way too many medical issues to try that again, was OK in my 20's, but not now.

Both knees replaced, on the waiting list for a shoulder replacement, arthritis galore, not to mention carpal tunnel, enough said and I could go on...lol

Lol. I guess if you look at it in a good way you have a Winter to buy some gear and gain some knowledge so that when the Spring hits you'll be ready for it!
