here's MikeH's revised article article : http://fishontoronto.com/carp-bait-101/

Tip to all: try using the "advanced search" feature of this forum to search for topics of interest. You can only do one such "advanced search" every 30 seconds - but it does speed your sifting.

Buy a bag of cattle corn from the local feed store. Thoroughly boil a 10 gal. bucket worth and bait the area you want to fish. Ideally prebait the area for several days before fishing, but thats only possible if you live close by. You can also soak the corn for four nights instead of boiling, but make sure that you can break it apart with your fingers before you throw it in the water. Fish 2-4 kernels on a hair rig.

The interval has been updated to 5 seconds.

As a heads up to everyone, you must do an "advanced search" if you wish to search all text within a thread instead of just the thread title. I am working to update this.

Updated, the search function now searches through all text in threads.

My favourite for carp: corn meal and strawberry Jello with anise.
* Take the water the Jello calls for, stir in half that amount of corn meal and a half teaspoon of anise.
* Simmer, stirring, until it starts to thicken (5-7 minutes).
* Add the Jello powder and stir well, then let cool to room temperature.
It's quick and easy, and it doesn't spoil readily.
