Finally Got my boat out this year. - Jeremy Ray Green - 07-01-2013 10:31 AM I finally got her out on Saturday, made a 14 mile round trip... Average 32 MPH on the GPS. She handled well in the 2 ft chop.... Here is a quick clip from the "First Run" Was nice to be out.. So Saturday was the "FIRST" run of the season, I ran from the city of Pickering, Ontario. to Whitby, Ontario on the boat, and paid entry into the port whitby salmon series. It was a great turnout with another 40 boats involved. We all meet at the harbour entrance for 6:00 am, and the it's "BLAST OFF TIME". Everyone races to get to their best spots to get their lines set for optimum fishing time. Here's a clip I took from blast off On Sunday morning June 30... Very Happy With my Little boat. Well, I Finally got my boat bloody today. (you can say this is the first ever great lakes Chinook salmon on a Glasply. And I get allot of great compliments and queries as to what I have as a boat. it has been quoted "The Little Big boat" The First fish I was Able to bring aboard, was a pacific Strain, Chinook Salmon at the 18# mark. Here is a Fellow Hatchery Volunteer, John Bacon with our first of the day within an hour of having lines set. By the end of the day we went 6 for 9 on fish hooked and boated. 3 kings 2 rainbows and an Atlantic Salmon.... not sure what we lost, I will continue to tell myself they were very small fish and would not have helped us in the salmon tournament. Today was the first of a three day tournament, It was won by a team with a King Salmon weighing in at 31 pounds. ~Jeremy RE: Finally Got my boat out this year. - mcfly - 07-01-2013 11:49 PM that looks great! I've always wanted to go salmon fishing but chartering one is so expensive! I usually just fish at the bluffs and ask boats coming in if I can see their fish LOL |
