spring on the islands - MikeH - 04-06-2012 08:55 PM Things are looking good for some early spring fishing on the Islands. I saw a huge school of baitfish in the shallows and I saw quite a few crawfish too. [attachment=55] I also saw what looked like a small mammal wearing a crash helmet, but it turned out to be this little guy finishing up a Swan egg. Nice to run into you today. I also came across a few big schools of baitfish. One seemed to be a big school of small perch (verticle stripes). RE: spring on the islands - MikeH - 04-07-2012 06:56 AM Apparently the Carp are starting to show up and are spawning already. They are not actively feeding or taking bait though. I am going back this afternoon, I will check out the trout pond too. RE: spring on the islands - OldTimer - 04-07-2012 07:30 AM Toronto Island has Otters? RE: spring on the islands - bettercallsaul - 04-07-2012 11:32 AM Maybe it's a mink? Also, is it legal to use crawfish as bait if it's from the same body of water? RE: spring on the islands - MikeH - 04-07-2012 12:55 PM Just Googled it, yes it's a Mink |
