Fishing Lake St. Peter and Area - TASPL-Designs - 09-01-2015 11:45 AM

Hey everyone, First Post other than my welcome post, Hopefully this is in the right place.

Sept 10th to Sept 13th I'm heading up to my cottage around Lake St. Peter. Small bits of research says there is Walley, Bass, Pike maybe and some Trout.

I'm Still In the process of buying all the gear I need. I have a couple rods, hook removing tools and SOME lures, not too much yet as I'm still re Learning.

Was just wondering if anyone has had any experience fishing up that way, what works, hot spots, what doesn't work. Any tips or tricks for catching anything?

Any Lure, Bait, Gear, Line tips?

I will be fishing from shore as we no longer have the boat. So any times, or tips would be awesome.

I know there is a tonne of little lakes around, I have my car and quads to get around.

Anyways, looking forward to hearing back from anyone.

Thanks everyone

Well lake St. Peter was kind of a bust, had the minnow trap in for 2 days in 2 diffrent spots, not a single minnow. Caught a little small mouth one day and the wife caught a small rockbass, and thats all we caught in the lake.

We took off on the quads to a couple little lakes about 40 mins down some quad trails, one lake we were hammering small bass and perch all day, about as fast as we could get lines in they were hitting, nothing big. I got bored kinda easy but my wife loved it. Made a fire and cooked some hot dogs, was a good day.

Next day we hit another lake about an hour down a trail, hit a couple small perch and some rockbass then i put on a rapala shad rap and started casting and started banging out some largemouths and decent sized rock bass.

Walked away with 2 keeper large mouths and 1 keeper small mouth the wife caught on a super small hook and worm.

All in all had a blast even though we didnt keep much, made some bacon wrapped lemon pepper bass on the bbq. Was really good.
