Ok sorry I thought I uploaded it , here is a pic RE: Fish identification - Roxy - 09-03-2018 08:12 PM Looks like a Fallfish RE: Fish identification - zippyFX - 09-04-2018 07:10 AM I am thinking it is a common shiner. RE: Fish identification - Fish_catcher - 09-04-2018 07:43 AM Thanks for the replies ! I am thinking it's a fall fish RE: Fish identification - Roxy - 09-04-2018 09:49 AM The scales behind its head are uniform which cancels out common shiner (Muskiebait taught me this one). Striped Shiners have uniform scaling in this region, but I don't think it's one. The scales are quite large which leads me to Fallfish (and the fact I know there are Fallfish in Ottawa). I would love to be corrected on this one however (it's where the learning comes in!). RE: Fish identification - Fossil Fish - 09-04-2018 11:45 AM I'd be leaning towards fallfish as well. I don't see any the scattered "dark" scales I usually see on common shiners. RE: Fish identification - Fish_catcher - 09-04-2018 10:12 PM I'm glad to see south participation ! Thanks guys RE: Fish identification - Joeyu - 09-08-2018 10:48 PM No idea... |
