Anyone fish in the Don river? - onwind - 10-10-2012 02:45 PM

Last weekend, I went to a trail beside the Don river and find a fish's body near the bank. it should be a Salmon. and then I found 4-5 Salmons swimming in the Don river towards the up stream. they are around half a meter long and the water is so shallow that their back fin is exposed in the air.

do you fish in the Don river?

I fish for Carp down at Keatings in early season as its warmer than the harbour. There is a short run of Salmon every year up to the weir. Same thing in the ship turning basin, you can see them jumping in there too. there are some catfish in the lower Don.

I dont fish there for Salmon, only Carp early in the year.
