Carp through the ice - MichaelAngelo - 02-05-2013 12:59 PM Jigging raps tipped with minnow heads yielded: http://www.in-fisherman.com/2011/12/20/ice-fishing-for-carp/ But they did not discuss how they worked the raps. My guess would be a very subtle tap/drag on the bottom... or not at all. RE: Carp through the ice - Giuga10 - 02-05-2013 04:30 PM That's so awesome! Now I wanna hit Mount Joy with my Jigging Rap. MA the guide said that they come in and bite them so I think it might even be fully jig it then wait a little, fully jig it then wait a little..... rinse and repeat. RE: Carp through the ice - Eli - 02-05-2013 07:06 PM I know a bay on the St. Lawrence where it happens on a regular basis. Usually it's someone jigging for perch with a teardrop jig and waxworm/maggot. With the amount of ice sucker fishing I plan to do in March, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to me. I just hope it's under 15lbs as anything over will not fit through the hole easily. |
