don't start off using light lures when first learning....set your braking fairly high and the cast control knob so that as soon as you release line and the lure hits the water the spool will stop...yo... |

braid backing with 12# flouro or straight braid on all my baitcasting setups....spinning would be 10 or 12# flouro....don't have any ul setups so no light line is ever used....mono has too much stretc... |
