Hello
Hey,

Just a quick note to introduce myself to the forum.

I'm just recently retired and so look forward to the start of better weather and season openers.

Been fishin' here and there for more than 60 years - both fresh and saltwater. Love it all - whether I catch something or not.

Looking forward to my time spent here both reading and sharing.

Cheers..............

<>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><>

See you on the river.

Wonderful! They must have tasted delicious!

I would definitely make sushi out of them =D

Have you ever fished for tarpon or... sharks?

RE: Hello from Ancaster
Never specifically went for Tarpon (yet) - but did land/return a quite small one once.

If you do a lot of Atlantic coast surf fishing with cut bait you will occassionally catch small Nurse and Sand sharks, as I did.

Caught a 5' Bonnethead shark while reef drift fishing.

The only time I ever set out to try catching sharks produced a 6'+ Hammerhead that was released.

That's epic! Is this dangerous for your fingers/toes? How does one go about unhooking a 6' shark Undecided

RE: Hello from Ancaster
Saltwater hook removers are much larger than those we see in shops here in Canada. They are heavy built stainless and well over a foot long - made specifically for clamping on larger hook shafts. The one I have was made by Rapala, I believe they are still manufactured. Your hand gets no where near a fish's mouth.
