I have read articles that state that some goby's may eat algae that contains the botulism virus and that it is advisable to wash one's hands prior to eating finger food after handling a goby.

A few things to try...
1) Try using a thinner diameter line. The thicker the line, the more drag you will have in the water, thus, there is more force exerted on your entire rig to move it in the cur... |
