RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms
Ever cool! Now I need to find whole walnuts . I'm wondering if there's a substitute, maybe anything that irritates the worms.
I've tried worm grunting earlier this year to no avail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=end...ILoGcSxCAY I've spent over $30 on worms this year! Gotta find a way to get 'em myself! |

RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms
I've heard - but never tried - that plain yellow mustard in water has a similar effect to that of walnut husk fluids.

RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms
My grandfather has always used a worm shocker. A metal rod connected to an extension chord. He wets the ground and sticks it in. I think he insulates one wire and wraps the other around the metal rod.
I better make triple sure of that before I try though |

"Black walnut and butternut produce the largest quantity of juglone and can cause toxic reactions with a number of other plant species that grow in their vicinity."

Well if the walnut juglone and mustard juice dont get'em the 120vac will toast their cookies before we impale them on a hook.

Now the mustard idea is worth a try:
http://www.ehow.com/how_8297814_worms-ou...stard.html I'll give it a try and report back after the weekend "I am, Sir, a Brother of the Angle". Izaak Walton, The Compleat Angler |
