Amazing and easy way of catching worms - bettercallsaul - 05-18-2012 12:36 AM Came across this neat trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZutYfFwm8M RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms - MichaelAngelo - 05-18-2012 11:30 AM Ever cool! Now I need to find whole walnuts . I'm wondering if there's a substitute, maybe anything that irritates the worms. I've tried worm grunting earlier this year to no avail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=3ILoGcSxCAY I've spent over $30 on worms this year! Gotta find a way to get 'em myself! RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms - OldTimer - 05-18-2012 11:33 AM I've heard - but never tried - that plain yellow mustard in water has a similar effect to that of walnut husk fluids. RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms - MichaelAngelo - 05-18-2012 11:49 AM My grandfather has always used a worm shocker. A metal rod connected to an extension chord. He wets the ground and sticks it in. I think he insulates one wire and wraps the other around the metal rod. I better make triple sure of that before I try though RE: Amazing and easy way of catching worms - Redmire - 05-18-2012 01:19 PM "Black walnut and butternut produce the largest quantity of juglone and can cause toxic reactions with a number of other plant species that grow in their vicinity." http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/crops/facts/info_walnut_toxicity.htm I wouldn't pour any of that on my lawn!!
