New to area
Hello, We currently live in Northern Ontario where the fishing is great. We are moving to Huntsville this coming spring and are wondering if any of you can fill us in on where we can fish? We just have a 14" fishing boat so not a big water boat.
We would appreciate any help we can get. Thank you. Pam |

RE: New to area
Any of the lakes surround Huntsville is great. Seriously, you are in good country for Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass. Some lakes may have Walleye and Pike, but that area is known for Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass fishing.
Malama o ke kai Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger. Life List: 577 species and counting (2016: 91 new species) http://muskiebaitadventures.blogspot.ca/...-list.html |

So one out of the two in the immediate area is great. |

Hey PamMack The Huntsville area offers lots of great fishing. In the maps section of this website you will find fishing maps for a number of lakes in that locale. Most of these would be fine for a 14 footer (except maybe Vernon on a rough day). As MuskieBait has already said Smallmouth is great most everywhere. The Fairy---Peninsula---Vernon directly navigable river connected chain of lakes offers endless opportunities for exploration and fishing fun in summer. (no locks) EDIT: Link to launches: http://www.muskokacottagedreams.ca/viewc...hp?id=7697 We'll look forward to your fishing adventure reports here.............................. Cheers, OldTimer <>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><> See you on the river. |
