Hello to all from the newest Newbie
Hello everybody,
I am new to the forum but not to fishing, but I have recently moved from the Elliot Lake area to the Paris area and I am at a loss as to where to get fishing. I do not currently have a boat so I am hoping that some members can help me find a spot or two to get back at it sooner than later. I am aware of the Grand and its opportunities but where do I start? I am not trying to target anything specific as I just want to be out fishing...thanks to all and I appreciate the help. |

Hey LeakyLouie,
Welcome to OSF. Endless places to fish on the Grand.......... and 93 different species. Dig around at these links.......... you'll soon get enough knowledge to get you well started. And perhaps buy the GRCA's book "Fishing Ontario's Grand River Country". The Ontario eating guide will give you an idea of the game fish and their size along its course. Do note that the Grand has varying regulations and restrictions along its length - study the Zone 16 exceptions carefully. http://www.grandriver.ca/index.cfm http://www.grandriver.ca/index/document....1=0&sub2=0 http://www.grandriver.ca/index/document....1=6&Sub2=4 http://www.grandriver.ca/fishing/FishingTheGrand.pdf http://www.grandriver.ca/index/document....55&Sub2=24 http://www.grandriver.ca/Store/productdetails.cfm?id=21 http://www.friendsofthegrandriver.com/map.htm http://www.ontario.ca/environment-and-en...ort-fish#7 http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/stdprodconsume/...001335.pdf You may also find a number of past posts on this site of use......... look around. Hope that helps. Cheers, OldTimer <>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><> See you on the river. |

RE: Hello to all from the newest Newbie
I would suggest to start at the various parks and GRCA conservation areas. Those provide easy access and relatively safe fishing areas.
Malama o ke kai Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger. Life List: 577 species and counting (2016: 91 new species) http://muskiebaitadventures.blogspot.ca/...-list.html |
