One guy in the comments said "They are grouping to let the females know the population numbers so she knows how many eggs to produce". But the one flaw is that like the video said they are far from spawning time...

I'd like to know also.

Now that is interesting.... maybe something in the water (temperature, colour, oxygen levels, etc) confused their timing into thinking it is spawning time?
