R&D project - Homemade popper
I saw on the net where some guy is sellin' topwater popper style baits made from old wine corks and beer bottle caps.

I thought............ gee I could do that - always have a few of each kickin' around.............. so:

This thing might actually work.............. R&D TIME!!!!!! - out to the river.........

Cheers,

RE: R&D project - Homemade popper
I gave this lure a good go out on the Grand River yesterday.

It cast very well, and did seem to have a suitable attractive action (in my mind).

I did get one missed hit, but fishing conditions may not have been the best (heat/low water)

I do think that it needs a bit of colour, and more dressing

Will rethink, modify or rebuild, and give it a go in the near future.............to be continued.

Cheers,

OldTimer

Ok.......OK...........OK........

This should do it:

Added some yellow and red sparkles for flash.

Will test it in the Muskoka lab soon.

That's pretty cool! I was looking to make a few myself. Very curious as to how it would work on the water.
