I have a Catmaxx size 7000 spinning reel I am thinking of pairing it with, either that or my Shimano Sonora 4000 size. Got some shock leader and a finger guard, heading out over to south side of the islands tonight to get some practice in. It's been a while since I have had the gear to put 2 oz of lead and a 2 oz PVA bag 150yds out.

Great to hear Mike! You should review all that gear for your blog . I'm in the market for new gear and would love to hear what you think about the Sonora vs. the Avocet Gold, etc...

Do you think you could catch a Lake Trout? Summer lake trout... from shore... wouldn't even want to think of the odds but it sounds possible!
