I had no experience for carp fishing. If I come along what kind of setup should I get?

It's really basic, no fancy gear required. You can catch a 20-30 pounder on two or three pieces of corn on a hook....

The only piece of gear I use that is a MUST have is my net, I cant get a huge ass Carp out of the water on 4 or 6lb line without a net.

Thanks Mike! I am in see you guys in 14th
I have an exam a few days after the meet-up, so I am not 100% sure if I can make it but I'm going to try to fit it in.
Looks like I am being pulled into a project in Orlando at some point end of next week. I don't know yet if it's before or after the meet up on the 14th.
Here're some details! OSF Carping Meet-Up!

I'm going to be taking the 8am Center Island Ferry on Saturday April 14. Feel free to join in! Bring your (fishing-licensed) friends!

If you're coming from the Markham area we can car pool, pm me!

If you plan on arriving later in the day, pm me and I can give you my number in case we change spots.

Here's the spot we'll be fishing:

Apr. 14 looks good to me. I'll see if I can get some of the guys to come with me. Can't wait for my first Toronto Island carp.
If we get good numbers turning up, maybe we should relocate to the bigger water of the main channel at the Grandstand area?
I'm out. My work travel has just been confirmed. I fly out to Orlando that weekend and dont get back util the 22nd. Sad
That is too bad. I was looking forward to meeting you. I have two other guys interested so far.
