Fishing Snacks
Taking along a lunch is simple with endless possibilities - if you're fishing a pier, in a boat, or close to your vehicle......... you just load up the cooler.
But if your favourite style of fishing is like mine - either constantly moving along a shoreline or wading a river - you need small light weight foods that don't need a lot of cooling, and won't get destroyed in your shoulder bag or be messed up by a dunking in the water...... and have a low waste ratio that needs be carried home for disposal.
Here's my favourites:

I don't usually eat much when I fish but when I do:
- A bottle of Diet Coke to go with my water
- Sweet and Salty Granola bars.
Granola Bars are always in my bag, and a water. I find that I don't get very hungry when fishing, too focused on the fish, but if I do, one or two granola bars hold me over till I'm done.
A granola bar max...but most of the time I eat or drink nothing.
I do something that I called "going camel"...and get your head out of the gutter with that phrase...what I mean by that is I'll eat nothing and drink nothing all day (by all day, I mean 5am to 8pm), then pack in 2000 calories in one meal and drink 3 glass of chocolate milk straight plus another 3 glass of water with the meal at the end of the day.
Probably terrible for my insulin regulation...but that's how I fish...
This time year, I generally will eat snow. Mud in the spring, leaves in the fall. Random mushrooms in the summer.
Lol. Definitely granola bars. Any name brand doesn't really matter. I try to pack sandwiches when I can.
In all seriousness, in the winter just about anything tastes good out there after about a half day.
This season, I've been bringing out a pack of sliced turkey pepperoni.
I've witnessed Ken in camel mode countless times and it is something to behold, folks.
Since start of ice fishing season I've been fueled by wraps of all sorts. I put anything in a "whole wheat" tortilla, wrap it up, and put 3 or 4 of them in a medium zip-lock bag. Good for the day, ultracompact, and waterproof.
Nutella, peanut butter, banana all wrapped up is awesome. Hummus wrapped up with arugula and cheese is also awesome (and an essential balance to the Nutella LOL).
Don't even start me on the kidney beans...
In addition to the stuff mentioned, I also stick a water bottle in the freezer overnight to bring with me the next day. Keeps the food cold/fresh and I get yummy ice cold water almost all day

That is extremely terrible! 2000 cal PLUS 3 glasses of choc milk??? Your body can only assimilate nutrients from a certain amount of food per meal.
What do you eat to get to 2000 cal?
