48) Green Sunfish x Bluegill Sunfish (Lepomis cyanellus x Lepomis macrochirus) - Pond in Zone 16 - Jul 10. 2014
* Note - intermediate characteristics, mouth larger than typical Bluegill but smaller than Green Sunfish, face lacks typical blue streaks typical of Green Sunfish, ear flap largely black (Bluegill) with slight red rim but lacks white edges (Green), head shape consistent with Bluegill with slightly blue chin but longer body typical of Green Sunfish, orange rimmed dorsal, anal and caudal fin typical of Green Sunfish, body lacks fin blue spots that aligned to form horizontal stripes along the body typical of Green Sunfish.

Other Ontario species that were caught in Quebec that are NOT counted for this contest...I could very well catch all these species in Ontario in the summer months...I know where to find them all locally...so don't be surprise when these species are added later. But these are the pics I took on my trip to Ottawa/Quebec on Jun 14-16...just so you are aware that I'm not reusing some of these pics later and claimed I caught them in Ontario. It's about honesty and sportsmanship. Smile
