Thank you much appreciated!
Plenty of pike in Belwood Lake and Island Lake (Orangeville Reservoir). But I don't know if there are good shore fishing spots. My guess is you could find somewhere to shore fish at least at Island Lake, there's a trail around most of it including by a dyke and a bridge over an arm of the lake, so there should be somewhere you can cast into fishable water.

Thanks a lot I will look into making a trip there Smile
Apparently Lake Niapenco. just south of Hamilton, has pike: http://www.npca.ca/conservation-areas/binbrook/
And Christie Lake: http://www.conservationhamilton.ca/christie-lake

Niapenco is better known locally for its Crappie population.

………..And do note this unwanted presence from the Hamilton airport:

Yeah, should have mentioned that.
I can confirm Lake Niapenco at Binbrook Conservation Area is an excellent place to enjoy some shore fishing. I shore fish there a few days a week in the summer and catch lots of fish. Pike and bass are catch and release all year there. You can keep the crappie.

You can also rent canoes and boats. No motors on this lake but tons of different spots to fish from shore. Try fishing off the big rocks over by the dam, just be careful getting down to the shore there as some of those big rocks are loose and move around.
