This weekend I having some fun and catching some fish when I decided to take out and use my favorite lure (a Rapala Ultra light Crank (ULC - 3)) in my favorite color blue.
I cast it a couple of times getting the desired action and some follow from panfish. My 4th cast in my fancast pattern I notice the lure sailing quite a distance. Complementing myself I say "nice cast". As the distance continues to grow I start getting this sinking filling. I notice my line stop spooling out and line falling limply into the water.
About a 150ft out the lure splashed into the water and is never seen again. I reel in my line and notice the tell tale curly queue at the end of my line. My knot had slipped.
Argh!
Lucky I got some extras on special last winter.
