My sister and I visited four provinces in Atlantic Canada between Jun 7 to 17. We spent most of our time exploring national parks. Although the primary focus of this trip wasn't about fishing, you won't catch me traveling without my gear!

I made a challenging but achievable goal to catch a new species from each province. In the end, I caught 7 new species and accomplished my goal!

Shorthorn Sculpin (Myoxocephalus scorpius) - Species #464 (Newfoundland)

There were so much spectacular scenery that there isn't enough room to share here. I'll share my favourite panoramic view with you, but I so encourage you to visit my blog posts to see the rest.

That longhorn sculpin kicks ass! Good to finally read your report in sequence.

....and good to know my smores were a hit.
Great reports, excellent pics..

Brings back a lot memories of my years working down that way. Particularly the trail shots.

Thanks.

I was so happy to catch the Longhorn. I tried very, very hard to catch sculpins on the entire trip. Everywhere I went, I tried to fish jig and grub to find them but came up empty except for the first day in Newfoundland (and caught only one). It worked out perfectly that I found the Longhorns in Nova Scotia to add the final crucial new species since fishing in Nova Scotia was practically a bust until then. I think they are common enough that you should be able to find some next time if I send you there.

For my personal preference, soft chocolate cookies would work much better than crunchy ones.

Glad it brought back some fond memories for you. Looking back at these pictures, I'm still smiling reliving the trails. Gros Morne was such a beautiful national park and we barely even scratched the surface on this trip.
Another great fishing expedition! Glad you met your goals and had a good time.
Wow what an awesome trip.

Oh Canada!
