I think fishing and metal detecting are pretty similar though, I get the same excitement at seeing whats going to appear on the end of my hook as I do when I dig up my "treasure". You never know what you're gonna get!

Nothing that would let me retire for life LOL

I have found 2 gold necklace pendants...one was a religious disk about the size of a quarter, the other was an eagle clutching a small diamond.

The oldest coin I have found was from 1857.

The weirdest thing I have found was a gun wrapped in a plastic bag buried in my own backyard.Confused

Used to be into all sorts of stuff when I was younger, sky-diving and hang-gliding were the most fun. Astronomy, birding, nature study in general, and photography, getting more into videography now. And ever since I was a kid I've been making plastic model aircraft, but these days I only do stuff in the crazy world of 'what if?', wherein participants make any thing from a simple build with a colour scheme that the aircraft never actually wore, or bash together something that's completely insane. A few years ago I combined that hobby with fishing and made a helicopter out of an old Rapala, the full story can be found here: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Ga...ey/00.shtm

I have had many many different hobbies but one that I think was pretty cool is paintball. I'm still part of a team and have many sponsors. Check out the action footage!

I have so little time (small kids, job, wife Smile....), anyway

reading
birdwatching
guitar
soccer

I tried to learn painting, but I was a disaster....
Wow,
I have been absent for a while gang.... nice to be back on the forum again! Wow, I love this post.... what a great idea!

In addition to the fishing which I never seem to have enough time, I do a lot of photography! I am a avid street photographer and have been shooting weddings, events and models.

I also hold a amateur radio operators license which allows me to communicate, operate and build my own High Frequency radios and UHF/VHF radios.

I also have small kids and married so being a family man is a big commitment but the best thing by far in my life.

you fish
