We gave her a cheer and a round of applause. Thanks guys for all your contribution, such that the Executive Committee has now amended this motion, a Fishing Summit would be held and the existing No Fishing signs to be removed for now.

Don't be fooled, we have just won a small battle, but the war is still going on. We need to voice our support for shoreline access at the Fishing Summit. We need a strong showing of Toronto anglers at the Summit so that we can represent our interest!

Let's keep all this momentum going and keep our interest level high with this issue!

Right on! There's some traction I see.

Do remember that this motion has yet to be passed by council on July 11, 2012.

I would imagine that there will ultimately be area's designated as No Fishing after the summit concludes..... get your list of best spots prepared so the "angler's representative" has some priorities to concentrate on.

One of the comments: "Casts going awry and hitting boaters and scaring seniors ? Obviously a fishing ban will not work, but I propose a luer registry"

I couldn't help but chuckle Wink
Yeah - no kiddin'. Better start naming all those worms and minnows ya got...........

I personally found merit in Paula Fletcher's comments (in a video) in which she stated that anglers would not even consider casting near moving boats or swimmers since they know there won't be any fish there.

Simply, straightforward logic and a great argument for our side.
