Hey Michael
I used to have something similar in my Pathfinder. You could get some of the pipe insulation foam and stick it onto the front bar to keep the noise down. You can even cut a notch into the foam to keep the rod mid-section from sliding from side to side.

Yeah that's a fantastic idea!! Definitely going to look into that.

Yeah your rod is not going up there... I don't want my $5 rod rack being liable for a custom-made surf rod and bling shimano baitrunner
