How long has everyone here been fishing... I just started last year. There's a lot to learn =D

So far I've just been using worms and catching panfish here and there on summer trips to the cottage...

Forums are a great way to learn since you can post questions specific to what you want to learn about. Myself, about 5 years since I bought a rod.
Well, as long as I can remember I've been fishing. My grandfather taught me young and I used to go on trips with him. We never caught anything exciting, we just used bell sinkers with worms.

It wasn't until I started taking things into my own hands and learning online that I started to get really excited at the possibilities. ;-)
I've been fishing for as long as I can remember as well, my elders always produced some great fish with just hook, line and sinker and to this day it is sometimes better to get back to basics with those setups when you are having a hard time chucking lures.

Haven't had much luck with lures yet, so might just cave and do some minnow fishing =D. I haven't fished with minnows before, i feel they'd work great in the harbour or frenchman's.

We'll see how it goes.
Ive been fishing all my life really but not as intense as the last 10 years or so when I started fishing in Ontario. The only fish i knew were trout and salmon so all these native ontario fish i was catching looked like aliens to me! I think the abundance of fish, numerous species, various sizes and the real beauty of Ontario itself is what got me "re-hooked". Come to think of I might take a walk down to the Credit this afternoon. All this fishing talk has got me on the edge of my seat now!

I can't wait to get out finishing again as well. Nevermind the cold! This is such a great warm weather opportunity we have now.

I wish I lived closer to the credit, there should be good trout in there right now. Did you end up walking it?

Here's me and my cousin in the mid 1950's with a few West Lake fish.

The dunes were fun too............

Guess what - I'm still learning every day.......

Cheers
My earliest memory was fishing for perch on rice lake when I was 4, and every year we'd go on two or three camping trips. I've started to take the hobby more seriously since last year, and am beginning to experiment with lures (camping trips were always live bait since my dad is pretty old school European).
What an awesome pic OldTimer!

Bettercallsaul, me too. Last year is when I finally started trying out lures. More interesting than sitting with a bober, that's for sure =P. Also more convenient and more expensive hahah.
