I have a brand new Albright Fly Fishing combo. I bought the rod as a spare and as a loaner, but so far I've only test cast it once. My fishing usually calls for my heavier #10 fly rod so it's been just sitting at home.
The combo includes:
Albright Meridian 5-piece #8 fly rod, medium-fast taper with a rod sock. It is a graphite rod with cork handle. The rod comes with a nice rod tube but the zipper had fallen off. It's not a hard fix though if you take it to a seamstresses. I just haven't had time yet.
Albright GP #8 fly reel with a spare spool. The reel and spool are large arbor, disc drag and cast aluminum with a corrosion resistant coating. The reel is going to be discontinued and you can't find spare spool anymore. Spare spool is good for a different fly line (eg. sinking or intermediate fly line). Both the reel and spare spool comes with their own reel pouch.
#9 weight forward floating fly line and 30lb Power Pro braid backing already spooled on. Can't remember how much braid was exactly put on, but I was equipping this combo for a possible bonefish trip, so I'm sure it is in excess of 200 yards of backing.
MRSP for the combo was well over $700 ($300 for rod, $300 for reel, and $150 for spare spool). The spare spool was a separate purchase. I got everything on sale for just under $200 before shipping and custom fees (Albight only sell products online for most part).
I'm asking for $140. It's a great beginner combo for steelhead, bass, pike and saltwater fish such as bonefish, redfish and snook.
I'll leave the ad here for a week to give members first dip before I put it up on Kijiji. The price will be $160 on Kijiji...so get it first and cheaper here!
