Totally agree OT.
The difference I see between plastic lures and metal lures is the ease of manufacturing. It is much easier to stamp out spoons and spinners...much harder to mold plastics and then assemble the various parts. It is easier to maintain profit margins with metal lures by passing on the increased cost to the consumers. For plastic lures, in order to maintain profit margins with increasing costs (or greed too), corners are cut with design, fabrication and material...It is truly sad.
