Awesome!

It's interesting how different it is between California and Florida. In CA, you look for dark patches on the sand, little dark streaks of V shapes and you look for those V wakes as the wave retreats. In this video, the fleas in FL are much deeper and the form these mounts.

Pretty cool.

Enjoyed the video... and a little voice inside of me said "nooooooooooooooo" when he released them at the end.

No kidding - considering it was probably about $50.00 worth or more........ if you had to buy them...... Trick is - keeping them alive.....

Almost correct............. actually the top two methods are:

Store them in cool sea water with a bit of sand in a bucket, but change the water to fresh cool seawater quite regularly (their body waste (urine)) is toxic to themselves. (I've tried this...... it sorta works for a day or two)

or

(I havent tried this one - but seems its recommended by many) - store them in dry coquina in a bucket in a cool spot - and change the coquina completely at least once a day.

I was thinking of doing a post on how to simply do a rod wrap repair or attach a new new guide till I saw these videos.

Good stuff - plain and simple.

Even less expensive if you buy the heavy thread and 5 minute epoxy at the dollar store.

For razor blades - get the "Stanley" 5 pack at a local hardware store.

BTW - a bobbin is not required - just lay a heavy hard cover book over the thread to create tension as you wind..........

and as I've suggested before a BBQ rotary motor works great when spinning a finish.......... just Red Green up a system.....

I use 8# monofilament fishing line instead of thread for my "pull thru loops" - as sometimes the thread is not strong enough and parts.

Thanks OT, definitely a video series I'll remember. I found part 4 and 5 to be especially frightening and humbling. The risk of drowning in mere inches of water is very real.

One way to spend time waiting for soft water…………… keeps me outta the pool hall………(grin)

Some videos, etc. I found worthwhile-----------------

This first group is from Orvis – EXCELLENT:
