Fishing Information on the Net - Links
The wealth of information available to any type of fisherman today is fantastic in comparison to pre-WWW days.
Sure, there are a lot of commercial sites with very little good knowledge to offer – but - this still leaves millions of other websites that may just have the tidbit of info we seek, or a how-to, or a really cool instructional video of an aspect of fishing – that all will not only entertain, but inform, while providing endless hours of training. I thought I’d start this thread on OSF - to post a few links that I think will be of value to its members……… and to see if you fellas have a favourite website that is of high quality and worthwhile sharing with us guys. Here’s my starter teaser list on “straight up” Ontario information sites: http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/Let...index.html http://www.wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/index_e.html http://www.ofah.org/fishing http://www.creditvalleyca.ca/enjoy-the-o...s/fishing/ http://www.conservationhalton.on.ca/Show...CatID=1134 http://www.waterfronttrust.com/ http://www.waterfronttrail.org/maps/wt-zone2.pdf http://www.toronto.ca/parks/pdf/island/t...nd_map.pdf http://www.toronto.ca/parks/pdf/island/p...es_map.pdf http://www.grandriver.ca/index.cfm http://www.thamesriver.on.ca/parks/fishing.htm http://saugeenconservation.com/page.php?page=fishing Cheers, OldTimer <>< I once gave up fishing. Great post OldTimer!
One of my favorite sites to visit is no-maps http://www.nomap.ca/(S(tbcmqyvoto4ye355o.../Home.aspx This coupled with google earth is a good way to find lakes, remote logging roads etc. |

Interesting page with Lake Ontario bathymetry. I don't know whether it's detailed enough to be useful, but topo maps of Lake ON are tough to obtain |

RE: Fishing Information on the Net - Links
Tying Perch Rigs - this is very close to what I use... simple and quick...... I don't use beads or gold hooks, and most times I just tie it in as part of the main line.

RE: Fishing Information on the Net - Links
Looks like a regular drop shot, I only use one hook and do tie it to the main line, those hooks on the small leaders - I can just feel how quickly it will get tangled with the main line.
