Lake Niapenco/Binbrook crappie? - Adamthedeertracker - 12-26-2017 10:35 AM

I was looking at places to fish for crappie and hearing lots about niapenco, was wondering how is the crappie population there and if its mostly black crappie or white crappie? Ive also heard about green sunfish in there aswell, how common are they? Might do a roadtrip next spring/summer.

There are both Black Crappie and White Crappie. A friend of mine used to catch White Crappie drifting over the weedbeds in his inflatable boat. Personally, I've only caught Black x White Crappie hybrids fishing from shore. I've yet to catch a Green Sunfish from that lake.
