Unusual Channel Catfish Bait - Soap - OldTimer - 09-19-2012 04:28 PM Here’s a new one on me……… Now this I gotta try next spring when the big channel cats come in to spawn at Dunnville. Ivory soap as bait. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgDVmdjgeIQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QF-QAX7L-U&feature=related Any of you fella’s ever try it? Would be a lot easier and less messy than cut bait. Smells good too. Cheers, OldTimer RE: Unusual Channel Catfish Bait - Soap - MuskieBait - 09-19-2012 09:23 PM I saw those videos a while back, but thought it wasn't too environmentally friendly to add soap to the watershed. Never tried it and don't know how well it works. RE: Unusual Channel Catfish Bait - Soap - Fishchaser67 - 11-03-2013 02:42 PM the bright side is after you catch your fish you can wash your hands with the bait lol RE: Unusual Channel Catfish Bait - Soap - OldTimer - 11-03-2013 03:13 PM ........ 18 RE: Unusual Channel Catfish Bait - Soap - zippyFX - 11-04-2013 09:38 AM I did dome research on this a while back.... IRC everyone was recommending that it had to be a lye based soap to be effective and that most soaps nowa days don't use lye. I looked into finding a lye based soap and could not find anything either. I'll check the links.
