Great Lakes Observing System
In case anybody hasn't seen it before, the Great Lakes Observing System this is a (nearly) 1-stop shop for checking water conditions.

http://data.glos.us/obs/

You can also search by parameter eg: water temperature. Although having trouble finding it for Toronto *shrugs*

Any other online resources worth mentioning?

click the historical link to right for archived temp info. (these are surface temps) I would say invest in a float thermometer for yourself. I have seen differences of 8 degrees between the open water and back of the shallows in the sunshine. Needless to say thats where the fish were too.

What a cool discovery. I could go on-the-cheap and just throw one of my aquarium thermometers into my backpack. They're glass though lol.
