Great Pictures from OSF members
Hey,

I would imagine that many of you, as I, take a bunch of pictures…….. and not just of fish.

I thought I’d start a thread where you might get a chance to proudly share those superior NON FISH related shots of interesting or unique views, landscapes, etc……….

3 rules ………… (1)no sunsets/sunrises………… (2)no people…………(3)no fish.

Here’s my kick off shot……… Oxtongue River near Dwight 2012…….. it makes me want a glass of ice water….smile

Cheers,

OldTimer

RE: Great Pictures from OSF members
What? No sunrise/sunset??? Those are the best Tongue

Once upon a time I used to take more pictures on my trip...this is currently my office computer's background.

Banff

I was a bit of a nut case in Europe...mostly sightseeing and very little fishing...

Acropolis

Nantes

Strangely, not much from Hawaii...gotta remedy it next trip...

Honolulu

Waikiki

Fireworks

Georgia - old tech meets new tech

Massachusetts gave me a glorious day...

Other fun stuff...

Lighting

Ghostbuster anyone?

The one and only meteor so far...

I shoot constellations as well...but at lower mag, they don't show up on the computer screen most of the time.

BTW, there isn't any photo processing here...basically straight off the camera. Maybe I should process them and see how they turn out...

Taken with Canon Powershot A620, manual function with a tripod. No special lens or filters...just straight camera. Sometimes it's not so much skill but right place and right time...but still it may take a little know-how to take a well exposed shot. Day time pics are easy...those night shots are tricky...you need to know what you are doing with fireworks, lightning, meteor and constellations

*Bah! Photobucket doesn't work well with my office computer...more later tonight...

Looking at those pictures, I really wish sometimes I can simply leave my rod at home and only take the camera...but the call of the fish is just too great sometimes...I do like photography a lot though...which is also why I like microscopy a lot...same concept in image capture...just a different system but the theory is very much the same.

Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger.

I took so many pictures in Europe, it was just awesome...a lot of these could be postcards...

Same camera as above, no processing.

Paris

Not the best...it was very windy that evening...my tripod was shaking! It was a 2" exposure...that's why people are blurry...but they are not my subject focus anyways)

Athens

A little soft...but I still like it.

Sistine Chapel (not supposed to take pictures...probably because most people don't know how to turn the flash off their camera...I shot this with no flash...in secrecy...I'm probably going to Hell...not like I'm not headed there already :rolleyesSmile

Super cool

Favourite staircase (you have no idea how long I waiting for this shot. There were people using the staircase constantly...and I had to wait for the right moment when most of the people were just at the right spot to be outside of the frame!!! I'd say probably 15-20 minutes of waiting for a perfect moment and a perfect shot)

I've a few panoramas...these are more difficult since you may have to adjust the exposure a bit depending on sun angle as you rotate around to shoot...otherwise some areas will be overexposed and some underexposed...but of course that depends on what you want to be your subject in your picture.

Ydra

Some seriously gorgeous shots here. I'm impressed. My dad's a camera nut, and I did a bit of self teaching when I bought my first camera. A skill for me to nurture... if I can ever keep a camera in working order Wink.
