RE: Hawaii 2009
Hawaii is a darn nice place to fish...but sometimes catching can be difficult.

Many locations in Hawaii are confounded by one of two challenges...or even both...

1) High lava rock cliffs that are over wave swept and dangerous to fish, not to mention the eroded lava rocks that can crumble into the sea

2) Shallow sandy bays with reefs that are difficult to present bait into deep water without a decent cast (50 yards+), and the constant snagging on the reefy/rocky bottom.

But there is a good variety of fish to be caught...if you can get your bait pass the Saddled Wrasse (hinalea) or Green Damselfish (mamo). Big Grin

Still...I would fly there and fish there in a heart beat...

Malama o ke kai

Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger.
