Notice the rod flex at 2:52 in slow motion. This doesn't happen on modern-day graphite poles!

Anybody else notice how much better fiberglass poles cast from shore?

Cool video - I still fish with one of those Mitchell 300's occassionally.

Yes - my old fiberglass ocean surf rods out distance my graphite one by a long shot. But the graphite pole handles the real heavy bait/sinker combinations much better.
