Sad It bothers me.... It really does...
I decided to post my Goldfish catch on a website called Reddit which has many fishing subreddits (sub sections). I wanted to share such a beautiful fish that was caught and ended up with many people with that "anti-roughfish" mind and it really bothered me! Sad

Why do people feel like it is there duty to heartlessly murder innocent fish.Angry

The link is here. http://www.reddit.com/r/Fishing/comments...prisingly/

Seems like people still have no clue what they're really saying, they just go with whatever the majority says, and if it calls for killing... the more the merrier Angry

RE: It bothers me.... It really does...
gold fish are not meant to be in our systems,

When we operate the Fish ladder at milne if we were to find a Gold fish we would have to kill it and mark it as an invasive species.

Gold fish Are also not to be used as a Bait fish...

Nothing against you giuga10,

It just shouldnt be in our systems...

Now if you had caught a redhorse sucker, or a chubb, or a fall fish and the same thing was said, that would be a different story...

Just a heads up for you bud. This was posted two months ago and since then have learned and realized my mistakes. The members were pointing what was wrong about that when I posted that and have since learned what I was doing was wrong. Me and a few other members talked, discussed and yes even argued about what had happened and I've learned from my mistakes.

Please don't post something if you're that ill informed about what had happened.... It makes you look dumb!

I just found it funny how you're taking the moral high ground yet you were snagging salmon (being a novice doesn't make it an excuse to not know that it's wrong to rip hooks through a zombie fishes back). Although good to know you realize your mistake.

Indeed. This is the same issue we were discussing in another thread... what to do about the gobies, the carp... all other introduced fish. Heck... pacific salmon and rainbow trout are stocked fish as well!!

No right answer.

Personally, I'd rather see efforts towards restoring everything to how it was hundreds of years ago before humans decimated the Atlantic salmon and brooke trout and before Alewife invasion... but too much has changed since then. It may not be possible, so we have to move forward and "work with what we have".

Gray area.

Bettercallsaul, I don't remember ordering a background check on Guiga10 Tongue. He's clearly trying to raise our awareness on the above issue. No need to dig up dusty skeletons hereTongue.

Anyways, I see that we can either choose to embrace introduced fish or crusade against them. Kill all the introduced carp, gobies, pacific salmon, steelhead, and whatever else has been dumped in our waters.... or move forward with what we have.

Either way, if I see anybody slitting some silver shiner or redhorse... I'm not going to be happy Smile.
