Ahh yes it's that time of year again! Let's get those suckers!
Last year, around this time, I was having a blast right by my house. |

And dont forget white suckers make great cut bait for channel cats......... legal too.
I usually like the ones around 8 to 10 inches long for this pupose. A couple of these are enough for a day of fishing. Freeze them whole and uncleaned............. cut em up in steak fashion as needed at the fishing spots. <>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><> See you on the river. |

We get some suckers up in our area... but unfortunately it's not as great as other tribs. Unfortunately some people seem to believe that rivers are fish sanctuaries until trout opener. You'll receive comments and mean looks, but you're allowed to fish for what's open. Just because trout is closed doesn't mean the river becomes a fish sanctuary. edit: just don't show up with a float rod and roe bags and beads. Then there's some sort of reasonable suspicion that you're targetting trout, but I'm not sure if the MNR can ticket you for this... probrably better to be safe than sorry. |

And some tribs are open for trout. Like the Humber.
