How did your canoe end up flipping? that SUCKS! I'm always paranoid about my stuff going to the bottom in the event of a flip

I made an outrigger out of PVC pipes and insulation foam - it was a test run (nothing screwed in permanently) and the outrigger was working amazingly well until the float arm popped off its joint. My partner instinctively leaned over to grab it out of the water and the shift in balance caused the flip.

It was an expensive first fishing trip - $$$ for 3 month old cell phone and brand new fishing gear (I'm a n00b).

The good news is we aim to keep fishing and I already have my first fishing story

Hopefully, I'll be able to participate in a few meet ups and learn WHAT TO and NOT TO DO from the veterans here in this forum.

I'm going shopping for new fishing gear tonight. Debating between Bass City and Bass Pro.
