Yes this is possible but we must also keep in mind castability and retrieving. It would be quote a heavy rig with many crankbaits and your rod would be heavily bent while retrieving and it would also be very strenuous after only a few casts IMO. When I fish a single 6-12 ft diving crankbait my rod gets a decent bend on it, imagine 5 of them. I also think it would be a lot harder to detect bites.

Just my opinion, I'm sure it would work though.

No kidding........

Just like draggin' a shaker salmon around Lake Ontario behind a large dodger............ or a small trout behind a big cow bell rig. You'd be oblivious to a hit or a hook up with smaller fish.
