you'll probably never find another rod that feels like your old one cause they don't make those types of rods anymore but give the new one a chance....you'll get used to it

Can you take a picture of your broken rod, especially the metal collar? Sounds like a ferrule. If it is a ferrule, there could still be parts to fix it at the right place.
